National Center for Energy Analytics Appoints Policy Analyst Rupert Darwall as Senior Fellow

Washington, D.C., – National Center for Energy Analytics (NCEA), a Washington, D.C.-based energy think tank, has added policy analyst Rupert Darwall as a senior fellow. In this role, Darwall will leverage his extensive knowledge on U.S. energy policies to expand NCEA’s brain trust on the most pressing issues related to energy and the energy transition.
“We’re delighted to have Rupert join the NCEA team as he continues the excellent work that he pioneered while working with our friends at RealClearFoundation,” said Mark Mills, NCEA founder and executive director.
Darwall recently served as a senior fellow at RealClearFoundation, researching issues from international climate agreements to the integration of ESG goals in corporate governance. Previously, he was a special adviser to the United Kingdom’s chancellor of the exchequer under Prime Minister John Major. He also worked as a strategy consultant for brands like British Airways and Virgin, advising on infrastructure, transportation and cellular telecommunications issues. Past affiliations include the London-based Centre for Policy Studies, founded by Margaret Thatcher in 1975, and Reform.
As a writer, Darwall has penned two books, “The Age of Global Warming: A History” (2013) and “Green Tyranny” (2017). His forthcoming book “The Age of Error: Net Zero and the Destruction of the West” will be published by Encounter Books later this year. His articles have appeared in news publications, such as The Spectator, The Wall Street Journal, National Review, and The Daily Telegraph.
“The coming years may bring about a rollback of energy policies, some of which have been economically and socially destructive. With these potential shifts, I eager to lend my expertise to underscore the need for more pragmatism in climate conversations. I also hope to further NCEA’s mission by illustrating the lessons learned from those past policies,” said Darwall.
