Brent Bennett
Brent Bennett, PhD is the policy director for Life:Powered, an initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation to raise America’s energy IQ. He is responsible for research, fact-checking, and spearheading many of the team’s policy and regulatory initiatives. Bennett has written extensively on future technologies and how America has improved its environment while expanding energy consumption, and regularly consults with and advises policymakers, energy experts, and industry associations across the country. He has an M.S.E. and Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in physics from the University of Tulsa. His graduate research focused on advanced chemistries for utility-scale energy storage systems. Earlier, Bennett worked for a startup company selling carbon nanotubes for batteries, and he continues to provide technology consulting to energy storage companies.
